Reviews of the Farm Escape:

"It's rare to find a place that is in actuality more beautiful than it appears in pictures. This is the case of the Farm Escape House. It must be a combination of the home's design, the surroundings, and the peacefulness of the area.  The house feels very solid and is decorated nicely with an eclectic mixture of modern and antique furnishings which are both comfortable and practical. It's hard to describe the feeling of waking in the morning, and from the bed looking out the window at the barn across the lawn, hear the call of the rooster in the distance, with the scent of coffee coming from the large kitchen downstairs, other than to say it's wonderful!"

We have already booked our return for the Fall and all of us are eager to be back!

"When we arrived there was food baking in the oven with a fresh apple pie sitting on the counter.  From that instant we knew we had made the right decision.  The owners worked very closely with us in planning our week up here.  We hired them to make three meals for us, one of which included a freshly butchered organic chicken!  We had fresh eggs every morning from what the owner refers to as his "girls" from the coop.  The weather was just right... and this house!  Oh my God!  This house is amazing with everything you would want for a restful, rejuvenating respite.  We rocked on the porch for hours, had massages, napped, visited the chickens, hiked, napped some more and ate like queens.  Make sure you also check out River Market, which the homeowner Michael owns.  The market is fab with everything you would need for your retreat up here.  Make sure you try the sour cream pecan muffins they make from scratch...they are to die for!

We all left with regret, wishing that we could have stayed longer.  Every detail was attended to and we so so so look forward to coming back for many years to come!"

Our long anticipated long weekend came & went.  Wanted to take this opportunity to thank you for letting us stay at your home.  Your last minute add in of a hot tub was an unexpected surprise.  We used it everyday and could imagine how awesome it would be once the deck is completed.  Although it rained and ruined our outdoor plans Fri & Sat, our indoor plans were in full swing.  We bonded with mother nature as well as your barn animals once the rain disappeared.

We loved your kitchen.  Your house was decorated immaculately.  It was spacious and clean.  We found everything we needed.  As it came time to leave we were already thinking about next year's visit.

Thank you.

What a FANTASTIC HOUSE!!!  My husband and I needed a restful week, somewhere we could take our little one and just relax.  We just read, cooked and spent quality time as a family.  This house allowed us to do all of these things in complete luxury.   The kitchen was spacious and upscale.  The bathrooms were ultra modern with over-sized showers.  The beds were amazingly comfy and the 3rd floor loft looking out onto the barn was so tranquil.  We would reccomend this to anyone just looking to get away from it all without having to rough it.  Super Luxurious! This is the first vacation we come home from feeling totally rested.  Definitely invest in the private chef and shiatsu ammenities.  Both were wonderful.   Thanks so much!

Dear Michael:

My family and I just finished our Thanksgiving weekend at the farm house and it was truly perfect.  The house was immaculate and the property was beautiful.  My sisters (Aly=12 and Mary Kate=7) loved their first experience with chickens and gathering eggs every morning.  Tigger and Peaches seem to have the most ideal life with ample room for playing and “hunting” in the tall grass.  All of us took a lot of pictures throughout the weekend and we will share them with you.

Personally, I found the kitchen a lot of fun to use.  You have outfitted it with everything that could be needed for any meal.  I thought that I would share with you our Thanksgiving meal (I felt that we did your kitchen justice).

This was truly a memorable Thanksgiving for us and we even had a nice carpet of snow just to make the day even more perfect.  As the weekend wore on, the kitchen was the center of all attention and there seemed to be something cooking all the time.  I am sure that my family will be sending you other messages of appreciation, but let me be the first to share with you a deep thank you.

I wish you continued success and I hope that my family and I have the opportunity to spend more time at the farm in the future.

"I just wanted to drop you a note and tell you what a wonderful home you have at Blue Stone Farm. It was the perfect place for my far-flung friends to gather for a long weekend! I am still getting daily emails from each of them telling me how much the enjoyed the weekend – and I know the location was a huge part of that! Thanks again for everything – we really loved it. (Especially the cute “Pottery Barn” chickens!)"

Hi Michael!!!

I was just writing my own email to thank you and to tell you just how much we loved spending time at your beautiful home.  Even though we would have loved a day or three of sunnier weather (I could have sworn I put in an order for thatJ), we can’t complain – we played word games, board games, had stimulating discussions about everything from the mundane to battles of intellect, cooked absolutely beautiful meals on that to-die-for range you have, and reconnected our close bonds between each other.  All of this at your home, on your farm – it’s such a warm and peaceful setting that just melts away the day-to-day grind, the stress, and the demands of life in the city, allowing for perspective to seep right in and settle your mind, body and soul.
We loved the humorous words on some of the little non-descript notes we would find on things throughout the house…very cute and funny.  I must admit I never saw a “Sambo & Mamie” salt and pepper shaker before, but the humor was not lost there either.  It would have been great to see you while we were at the Farm, but the one day you were coming by, we had a rafting excursion scheduled for the same time you were coming by…well maybe next time.  We enjoyed the Farm so much and are looking forward to getting back out there soon, availability permitting of course.  I can’t thank you and the cosmic forces enough for making this first time experience a reality and such a wonderful and memorable experience.  You are truly the best!!

Michael, thank you so much once again.  I’ll be giving you a shout soon to see about reserving time for Thanksgiving and/or some time in January or February.

Farm Escape is truly that, an escape from the hectic schedules that we all have.  As soon as we arrived the relaxation process began.  The house and grounds are absolutely beautiful, Michael has thought of everything you could possibly need!  We decided to take a Yoga class one morning and the instructor was wonderful, she was able to accommodate all levels in one class - we all felt refreshed and even more relaxed.  The best part by far was having the chef come to the house and cook our group a delicious gourmet 3 course meal, we will definitely do that again!  Even though the weather didn't cooperate completely no one seemed to notice, the house itself is so gorgeous you don't mind being inside, we all truly wanted to stay an extra day or two.  What a great place to stay with your friends or family, plenty of room to roam and relax - we intend on coming back soon!

Thanks again for everything Michael - it was amazing!

Michael, thanks for offering such a wonderful place to stay.  From the moment I entered the farm, I knew I wanted to return.  Without a doubt, this home far exceeded my expectations.  My sisters and I rented Farmescape for our parents' 50th wedding anniversary and it was the perfect place to make feasts, share laughter and reconnect.  Throughout our visit, everyone remarked on just what a great find this farm is!  Out parents were impressed with every detail.  The home is remarkably well equipped with more amenities than you can imagine.  The kitchen, with an enormous island, is just perfect for preparing food while maintaining conversation with others.  While it is very spacious and open feeling, there are plenty of places throughout the house to steal away for private conversations.  The furnishings, beds and linens are phenomenal.  We spent some time in the area hiking and checking out local antique stores.  But every time, it proved to be a pleasure to return to Blue Stone Farm to get the evening meal under way - it is just that kind of place.  I really look forward to returning.
